Job Title:        Tower Lead Foreman & Technician III

POSITION SUMMARY

  • The Lead Tech will be responsible for running and managing local and Nation-wide projects, to include but not be limited to installing and maintaining wired and wireless networks, fiber optic installations (Inside Plant and Outside Plant), microwave and Scada communications systems, DAS, Access Control, AV and Video Surveillance system. The Lead Tech will need to be familiar with and proficient in installing and maintaining network voice telecommunications equipment, video camera systems, Enterprise Data networks wired and wireless. 
  • The Lead Tech will need to provide Tier III support for Field Service Personnel and Internal NOC IT Teams. 
  • The Lead Tech will be responsible Project Management Assistance to include but not be limited to the planning, development, installation, maintenance and management of all network/telecom hardware and software resources and installations as it pertains to Projects and/or Service Tickets/Events that they are assigned. This is to include TPO (Total Project Ownership) which includes staff work deliverables. 
  • The Lead Tech ensures Customer Service complaints are addressed promptly. They will be responsible for support for all communication infrastructures that are supported and available through our 24/7 business environment; including over hundreds of Networks and Radio systems throughout Texas and surrounding states. This position is responsible for assisting the Dispatch department and Service Management on any scheduling of technicians to go on-site to oversee various projects.  
  • Leads staging and deploying of all enterprise service and projects. 
  • Will be responsible for installing and leading the installation of Inside and Outside Plant structured cabling systems and providing industry standard testing. 
  • Will provide technical support company wide, including technical guidance an input to the pre-sales engineering. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Will take the lead on designing and overseeing the implementation of standard, reliable & High Availability systems at customer locations. Provide robust 24/7 availability for voice and data network infrastructure services.  
  • Help manage the afterhours on call and provide Level I Triage for emergency calls. 
  • Assist Dispatch and the Service Manager in managing the service of all new tickets including the ordering, contracting, scheduling and deployment of installs in a timely fashion and always being available for Level II & Level II Technical support providing it does not conflict with working on a customer site. 
  • Assist with the Planning, managing and implementation of projects for network re-engineering and technological solutions expansion.  
  • Provide Technical review and approval for network/telecom project plans prior to implementation.
    Manage the testing, maintenance and upgrades of installed networks, telephone equipment, services, and circuits.  
  • Assist with developing and monitoring service level agreements for networks. Responsible for taking pre-emptive steps so that service availability and/or reliability does not fall below acceptable levels.

REQUIREMENTS:

Job Title:         Wireless Tower Technician & Top Hand

POSITION SUMMARY
The role of the Wireless Tower Technician & Top Hand is to lead a crew to perform construction duties related to ensuring quality construction for expedited commercial deployment of wireless systems. Minimum 6 years of experience. May perform general construction of tower sites including site layout, excavation, foundations, erection, installation, and maintenance/repair; operates equipment to include trucks with trailers, power tools, and non-powered tools. The Wireless Tower Technician & Top Hand will have a direct end-customer interface and therefore will be an ambassador of the company always ensuring a positive portrayal of the company and core operating principles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead small crews of Tower Technicians  to perform tower construction and or wireless systems installation activities including: 
    •  assembling/erecting small tower components 
    • installing antennas, mounting hardware 
    • Installation of coax line, connectors, antenna, and accessories 
    • Installation of RF connections and cables, grounding, testing, positioning, auditing, optimizing antennas and lines 
    • Installing RF system radios and controllers 
    • Installation of small to mid-sized self-supporting communications towers. 
  • Must be proficient in reading detailed SOW, Site Plans, SOW documents and Tower Drawings 
  • Must be proficient in Installing, connecting, and testing underground and above ground grounding systems. 
  • Must have an ability to work with most cable types, connectors, and antennas, basic tower rigging, weatherproofing including working with Andrews, Eupen and RFS connectors. 
  • Perform maintenance on tower equipment. 
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. 
  • Ensure Manager is apprised of construction progress, concerns, and deviations from plans or established schedule. 
  • Must be able to climb to heights that may exceed 250 feet daily in most weather conditions.

  • Have general working understanding of cable sweep testing systems and principles. 
  • Knowledge of Test Equipment (sweep gear).

  • Basic understanding of tower safety and PPE 
  • Knowledge of standard knots, Pass N.A.T.E. Tower Climbers Exam 
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time (mostly during the week, some weekends)

General Responsibilities

Position Summary

  • Technology Manager of is responsible for defining the technologies we use for exceeding the expectations and needs of our managed IT services clients, service tickets & customer projects. Such technologies to include but not be limited to remote monitoring and management platform, trouble ticketing systems, backup and disaster recovery solutions, mail and web filtering, patching and vulnerability management, and configuration compliance. You’ll lead the implementation of the proper solutions for growth and scale and drive the team toward maximum use and integration. Working alongside our Chief Technology Officer and Technology Engineers you will help define client technologies such as Voice, Video, Access Control, compute, storage, networking, wireless, mobile devices, Office365 services, and other cloud resources and will always achieve security compliance objectives and implement patching best practices (think beyond Windows). The Technology Manager will lead various our engineering teams such as Desktop Engineering, Infrastructure, Networking and Security.

Will routinely be tasked to resolve complex, data, and video and access control system issues. Takes responsibility and ownership for small and mid-sized system installations.

  • Assit with the configuration of Microwave Radios, Industrial Wireless Systems, SCADA Communication Systems, VSAT, CDMA, Phone Systems, Digital Multiplex, Office Networks (LAN/WAN), VHF Radio Systems, and associated equipment.
  • Apply problem solving skills and break down complex problems to isolate outages and restore services on enterprise data networks.
  • Regularly and directly interface with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism, including but not limited to other employees, management, vendors, and customers.
  • Work with Dispatch, Service Management to ensure that Tier I technicians resolve all incoming IT Service request
  • Responsible for tracking all IT Service Request.
  • Callout and unscheduled overtime is required, and anticipated.
  • May be required to work non-traditional hours.
  • Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
  • Maintain a regular, dependable attendance, and high level of performance.
  • Write effectively, and understand verbal and written communications, including but not limited to email.
  • Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills, and listen carefully.
  • Travel is required, and a company vehicle is assigned for this job.

Requirements:

  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • Associates Degree in Electronics Technology. Preferred
  • BS in Technology or Engineering a plus
  • In addition to the degree requirement (or acceptable degree substitute), some level of direct and active work experience in the IT field is needed (minimum of four years to be considered for Level II Tech and higher).
  • BICSI Training a plus
  • Microsoft Training required
  • Cisco Training or COMP-TIA training required with Certification
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Strong working knowledge of IT Systems and subsystems
  • Thorough working knowledge and understanding of Data Networking, both routing and switching.
  • Ability to perform system wide upgrades to the complete system to enable compatible software on all computers.
  • Installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level.
  • Performing tests and evaluations on new software and hardware.
  • Providing support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting.
  • Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues.
  • Conducting daily backup operations.
  • Managing technical documentation.

Competencies, skills, and abilities:

  • Strong diagnostic skills and logical thought processes with the ability to identify and resolve various levels of Data Networking, Desktop application configuration and support, storage configuration and support and computer hardware.
  • Strong understanding with Microsoft applications (including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook and Visio) for the purpose of word processing, spreadsheet applications, and information retrieval.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including attention to detail in documentation.
  • Strong customer service skills, able to effectively communicate and work with all levels of management and employees in the corporate office and the field as well as external customers.
  • Must demonstrate ownership of work projects and assignments with high degree of autonomy
  • Must demonstrate outside the box thinking
  • Ability to work with and lead a team of Technicians, provide direction to junior Technicians while working on and resolve Complex Data Networking and IT infrastructure issues. Focus on the key details, follow work rules, and adhere to established work schedules.
  • Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes, with ability to identify and resolve simple to complex Data Network issues, including the ability to think quickly and provide support for emergency operations.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily work, maintain confidentiality as necessary, and work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks with strict, and often short, deadlines in a technologically diverse and fast-paced environment.

Physical demands:

  • Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 40 pounds, waist high, on a regular basis.

Position Hours:
• Monday – Friday during normal business hours of 7:45am – 5:00 pm. Some overtime may be required at times.
