Telecom Technician I, II and III

Job Title: Telecom Techinician I, II and III    Department: Operations
Reports To: Service Manager                             FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY: The role of Telecommunications Technician is to perform communications planning, implementation and repair services under the direction of the Service Manager.  The majority of the work will be in the field, warehouse or staging area. Some travel may also be required for certain out of town projects. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Installs and maintains Voice & Data systems and related equipment for customers (e.g. voice servers, PBX, voice switches, VOIP telephones, etc.) for the purpose of providing operational telecommunications systems. 
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots voice systems for the purpose of ensuring the availability of hardware and/or software applications as needed. 
  • Assists customers with voice hardware and/or software applications (e.g. proper voice equipment usage, troubleshooting, etc.) for the purpose of providing immediate problem resolution and/or referring as appropriate for resolution. 
  • Responds to telephone and cabling requests for assistance regarding customer telecommunications services for the purpose of resolving problem situation and/or determining appropriate action/s for resolution. 
  • Assists other technicians when requested (e.g. providing input, responding to issues, providing technical support, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the effective and efficient operation of assigned processes. 
  • Researches hardware and software applications and processes related to telecommunications for the purpose of recommending standardized equipment and applications in accordance with  company goals. 
  • Trains other Absolute technicians as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of solving problems and upgrading skills. 
  • Coordinates with other staff and outside contractors for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently. 
  • Assists in planning, designing, developing and implementing voice network systems as directed for the purpose of ensuring new systems/equipment adapt with VOIP and existing systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Network Engineer

SUMMARY: The role of the Network Engineer is corporate-wide engineering responsibility for all Data, Voice, Satellite, and Wireless. The Network Engineer will be responsible for the planning, development, installation, maintenance and management of all network/telecom hardware and software resources. The Network Engineer is responsible for ensuring all communication infrastructures are supported and available through our 24/7 business environment; including over hundreds of servers and desktops. This position is responsible for working with the Dispatch department on any scheduling of technicians to go on-site for various projects. This position is based out of our Corpus Christi, Texas office. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design and oversee the implementation of standard, highly reliable and available local area networks at customer locations. Provide a robust 24/7 availability for voice and data network infrastructure services. 
  • Manage the service of all new tickets including the ordering, contracting, scheduling and deployment of all network services (IP Voice and Data) in a timely fashion. 
  • Plan, manage and implement projects for network re-engineering and technological solutions expansion. 
  • Review and approve all network/telecom project plans prior to implementation. 
  • Manage the testing, maintenance and upgrades of all networking and telephone equipment, services and circuits. 
  • Develop and review service level agreements for network and phone systems. Responsible for taking pre-emptive steps so that service availability and/or reliability exceed specified levels.. 
  • Interface with service providers to improve services. 
  • Manage all networking/telecom equipment and devices (i.e. firewalls, routers, switches, filters, phone switches, equipment, etc.) 
  • Working with management to advise, recommend, enforce, and review technological standards and solutions in order to implement new networking strategies, as required. 
  • Responsible for budgeting, capacity planning, network and contract management related to the Network/Telecom department. 
  • Responsible for supporting centralized and decentralized Network/Telecom data center operations. 
  • Responsible for ensuring network and telecom will support company wide applications (i.e. electronic mail, ARA applications, file sharing, mobile devices, etc.)

IT Technical Support II

SUMMARY: The role of the Technical Customer Support I is corporate-wide responsibility for supporting Data, Voice, Satellite, and Wireless. The Technical Customer Support I will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and management of customer network/telecom hardware and software resources.   • Knowledge of Windows Server 2003/2008 a must and also excellent working knowledge of Active Directory – Microsoft Certification a plus 
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office 2003/2007/2010 suite of products – MOUS or MOS 
  • Certification preferred but not required. 
  • Must have at least two years of experience in software and hardware troubleshooting on laptops, desktops, servers and networking equipment. 
  • MAC OS X experience is a plus. 
  • Enterprise phone/PDA experience; ie, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile 5/6, iPhone, ActiveSync is a plus.

Job Title: Inventory Specialist   Department: Operations
Reports To: Operations Manager                             FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Location: Corpus Christi Area

SUMMARY: Great opportunity for hard working, reliable individual to gain experience with opportunities for advancement. Position involves:
  • Receive daily inventory shipments via 3rd party shipping companies.
  • Inspect shipments for damages and discrepancies against Company purchase orders and notifies distributors of any discrepancy.
  • Maintain and organize inventory in the Company warehouse and company.
  • Fill request for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to shipping, job site, or technician vehicles.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in company warehouse.
  • Assist the finance department in performing the regular physical inventory.
  • Ensures that all Company vehicles are properly maintained.
  • Work daily within our ERP system to ensure proper accounting of all transactions.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reliable person with strong attention to detail and organization. 
  • Ability to work with computer systems to enter data and track information. 
  • Consistently portray a professional image in all communications with teammates, shippers and vendors. 
 
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:
  • Compliance with Absolute’s Company Handbook. 
  • Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory standards. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Computer and computer software proficient.
  • Must be able to lift between 50 - 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a background and drug screening.
  • All company vehicles have standard transmissions; must be able to drive standard.
  • Driver must have clean driving record.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed records.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High School degree required 
  • Previous inventory and warehouse experience preferred 
 
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Valid driver’s license required to operate a company vehicle
  • Pass Drug screen and background test
  • References required.
 
COMPENSATION:
  • Pay commensurate with experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Identify, qualify and close new strategic accounts.
  • Develop new leads through persistent cold calling and Internet research.
  • Create and execute on an account plan to maximize opportunities and leverage our integrated solutions offering within key accounts.
  • Effectively communicate and present to all executive levels of an organization, Absolute Communication’s competitive value proposition.
  • Lead negotiations, conduct product demonstrations, coordinate complex decision-making process, and overcome objections to capture new business opportunities.• Proactively develop sales techniques to effectively identify and quantify new business opportunities.
  • Consistently portray a professional image in all communications to potential customers.
  • Proactively enter and track all leads and contacts through Web-based Sales Tool(s).

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years professional sales experience in high-tech or service related industry.

  • Associate degree or equivalent sales experience.  
  • Three (5+) years of directly related experience.

COMPENSATION:
  • $85,000.00/year at Target, composed of Base + Commission
 
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
